Stephane Verheye studied at NARAFI in Brussels and at the Royal Academy in Ghent. In London, he was assistant to top photographers John Rawlings and Ed White for two years, and then worked as a publicity photographer in Brussels for over thirty years.

Verheye photographed numerous national and international campaigns. He also received several awards for his work, including Pentawards, Gourmand Awards and CCB Awards - along with both Belgian and foreign advertising agencies, packaging designers and publishers.

In 2004, Verheye was named European Photographer of the Year in Italy by the European Federation of Professional Photographers. For his personal and artistic work, he was selected by US publisher World Wide Art Books for the book International Masters of Photography in 2012 and for International Contemporary Masters in 2013.

The photographer also chaired the jury of the Knokke-Heist Photo Festival for more than a decade, where he also served as co-curator for several editions. Verheye also curated many other photo exhibitions, whether or not commissioned by galleries.
