Kurt Liefsoons’s work moves between classical art and contemporary photography. A background in illustration – honoured with national awards – forms the foundation of his artistic language. After working as a commercial photographer, photography naturally evolved into an extension of his artistic endeavours. Kurt's recent work merges digital technology, photographic precision and illustrative atmosphere into an idiosyncratic whole. Instead of relying on a single style or medium, he uses a free-ranging approach and visual intuition to create his images.
